A little bit of a catch up.

It's been over a month since I've last blogged and I'm so sorry.

Chase and I went to Oklahoma for what was supposed to be just a regular two weeks worth of leave for Christmas that ended in us being there for 3 1/2 weeks because Chase's grandma passed away. We got to Oklahoma on the 15th and we went and saw her and gave her her Christmas present and she LOVED IT.
She was doing pretty good. She's had COPD for a while and was on oxygen, but overall she was the same as she's been every time we went down there. We saw her another time and then on Christmas day we went over there to say hi and she was laying on the couch not feeling well at all and didn't want us to stay because she didn't want to get us sick, so we left. Everything went downhill pretty quickly from there. She ended up having pneumonia and decided she didn't want to go to the hospital because if something were to happen she wanted it to happen in her home and not in a hospital. She had a hospice nurse and she brought her in a hospital bed and some other things to make her more comfortable. We spent a lot of time over there over the next few days. On the 29th we had went shopping with Chase's step-mom and dad and his cousin texted him and told him that they weren't expecting her to make it much longer so as soon as we got back from shopping we headed straight over there. We stayed at her house until she passed at 11:30 PM on the 29th of December. She was ready to go and had lived an amazing life. She impacted so many people and she will not soon be forgotten by anyone who knew her. Chase made sure to tell her to tell his mom hi and he loved her; that was absolutely HEARTBREAKING. It was very tough seeing my strong husband break down like that, but he's okay now.

A few days before we left Oklahoma, I was told that my grandma was in the hospital. My grandma has kidney failure due to diabetes and is on an at home dialysis everyday. She hadn't been feeling well but is really stubborn and didn't want to go to the hospital. Finally, my grandpa talked her into going to the ER and they decided to keep her. At first, they'd thought she had another stroke, but ruled that it was a "mimic stroke" which has all the same signs of a stroke but none of the damage, so that was good news. They had checked her heart and all that and didn't find anything, so they were going to send her to a neurologist. My aunt said that she was doing better and was up walking and stuff, so hopefully she gets to come home soon.

We had a pretty good time in Oklahoma and it was good to get away from Kansas and the Army stuff for a while, even if there were some bad things that happened. We got back to Kansas on Friday and we have started getting rid of things since Chase is getting out of the Army in July. I'm not going to lie, I'm terrified of what's going to happen after he ETS's. I can't wait to live in Oklahoma again, but I'm going to be sad to leave this place. It's been my home for almost three years and a lot of things happened here. We had our first anniversary (and second) here and probably third, we bought of first car (and second,) I leaned to cook here, I learned how to live with my husband here, I learned how to be a wife here. I'm going to cry when we move away from here. It's been an amazing 2 1/2 years we've spent here and I'll forever cherish it.

Anyway, I am also excited for something new. I'm excited to see where life is going to take us. I'm excited for this new step and for everything to come. I'm excited to go to Cosmetology school and to try new things. :)
