Father's Day.

Father's Day has been a hard day for me for the past 13 years. My dad passed away when I was just 7 years old. Ever since he's been gone, Father's Day is just one of those days like his birthday or the date of his death that makes me sad. I try to be happy and all but at the end of the day, I miss my dad and I'm sad that he can't be here in the flesh. I miss him so bad that it hurts. I wish that I could buy him a cheesy card and call and tell him how much I love him and how much I love that he's my dad. Since I can't do that in real life, I figure why not do it here, so here is my letter to my dad. :)

Dear dad,

I just want you to know that I love you! Happy Father's Day! You were an amazing father and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Even though you've been gone for more of my life than you've been here for, I wouldn't trade those 7 years for the world. I am alike you in many ways, mom always makes sure to tell me when I say or do something, or make a face that reminds her of you. She even says that I get my football watching from you and how it used to ruin your day when Oklahoma lost, I'm the same way. She tells me that I look just like you and that it makes her happy. I know you're watching out for Alex and I and I want you to continue to do so, also look out for mom. She really needs it right now. I try not to be sad that you're gone because I know you were in pain and I know your heart was bad. I just look at it like you're not in anymore pain and you're always happy and smiling. I wish I could give you a hug, but the memories I have will have to suffice for now. It sucks that you're not here to meet Chase and to get to know him because I know you'd love him, just like mom does. She said he reminds her of you and she's grateful for that. I hate that you'll never get to meet any of your grandkids, but I'll make sure to tell them what an awesome person you were and show them pictures of what you looked like and tell them that they have a guardian angel that looks out for them just like you do for Alex and I. I love you very, very, very much and I'll see you again someday. Thank you for being the best dad a girl could ask for. :)

Love always,

Your little girl.

Random Thursday! {Photo Dump}

It's Random Thursday! :)
you're meaghan me crazy

I love Random Thursday's, they're boatloads of fun! This week's topic is photo dump! WHOO! I love photos and I love sharing pointless photos, haha!

Chase and I when the photo prompt on Instagram was kiss. :)
Oklahoma sunset.
My pedicure with my best friend.
My mother-in-law made me a "redneck deck."
 Chase cooking out.
Showing off my new "Backwoods Barbie" shirt.
A PEACOCK at one of Chase's friend's house!
The flower I put on my dad's grave for Memorial Day. <3
My yummy Starbucks from a couple of weeks ago.
Supposed to be packing but doing this instead.
 Sweet clouds here in Kansas.

Pretty flower I saw in Home Depot.
My new bracelets I got from PuraVida.
I was having really bad stomach pain on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning so Chase took me to the ER and I got to drink some gross shit that numbed my lips, mouth and throat but didn't take away my stomach pain. Then I got to get an IV, they took blood and then I got some hardcore drugs because my stomach still hurt. Let me tell you, the pain medicine they put in my IV made me feel tingly and sleepy and then nauseous. That wasn't fun, but at least my stomach stopped hurting! :) I'm finally starting to feel completely normal again after feeling pretty shitty yesterday. Yay!
 Rainbow from yesterday!
HAHAHAHAHAHA. My husband, ladies and germs.
And last one, we were outside and I just started taking photos, he doesn't know. Shhh.

I once took off running, tripped, and fell into a ditch and hairline fractured my pinky.

2. I can pinch really hard with my toes. (My husband hates when I do it haha)

3. I effing love to play board games, but no one EVER wants to play with me.

4. I love to take photos of myself (and everything else.)

5.  I love everything about the 80s. The clothes, the music, the movies, evvvvvverything! I wish I was a teenager back then.

Okay so the last three were pretty boring, but it's hard to come up with facts about myself, haha!

Anyway, go link up with the ladies from Random Thursday! You won't regret it!

Pray for Oklahoma.

I know I just posted Sunday about Oklahoma and about tornadoes, but as I'm sure you all know another huge one ripped through the town of Moore, Oklahoma. Moore is a suburb of Oklahoma City and it's heavily populated. Moore has been hit THREE different times in the past 14 years. It was leveled on May 3rd, 1999 in an EF5 tornado that tore through several states. It was hit again in 2003 by an EF4 traveling close to where the one in 1999 was. Then on May 20th, 2013, Moore was once again hit by a tornado traveling much like one on May 3rd.

(EDIT: there were far less than 91 fatalities, there were 24 and only 9 were children) 9 of them being children that were trapped inside an elementary school. The death toll is expected to continue to rise as search and rescue teams scour the rubble. My cousin lost his home, but he and his family are alive. I just can't imagine what the people who have lost their loved ones are experiencing. Parents shouldn't have to bury their children, ever. Children should grow up, they should go to prom, learn to drive, graduate high school, go to college, get married and have a family of their own; their lives shouldn't be cut short.

Moore has been leveled and rebuilt just to be leveled and rebuilt again. Oklahomans are resilient and we take care of each other. We will get through this and we will bounce back. The shots of Moore and all the other places that were hit are gut wrenching. It looks like a war zone.

Oklahoma needs all the prayers they can get. There's going to be many long hours for the emergency workers and for the people that will return at daylight to to sift through the rubble of what used to be their homes in search of anything they can salvage.

A tornado hit my home town.

Today, May 19th, 2013 some powerful and destructive tornadoes swept through much of the central part of the United States. There was a little town in central Oklahoma of about 700 people that got hit pretty hard. That little town's name is Carney and it happens to be where I grew up.

When I saw that there was a tornado heading straight for that little town, I called my sister and she said that my mom and her were going to just ride it out at the house. I thought, "okay, I wish they'd go to our grandparents" because they have a cellar. I called back about an hour later after hearing that the tornado had in fact ripped through town, and my family was safe; they ended up going to the cellar and I thank God that they did. I thank God that they went because the tornado went right down the road where they live. It beat, battered or tossed every single house on the road except for my mom's. My mom's house was completely untouched, even the garage was fine, I couldn't believe it.

My best friend went down there and took some photos. It's truly heartbreaking and heart-wrenching to see all the destruction and devastation. People lost their homes, their cars, everything they own and I personally know them and that hurts. I always feel for the people that lose things in weather related disasters or disasters at all, but this, I just can't seem to wrap my head around yet. This is my little town, my little piece of heaven, the place I grew up, where I lived until I moved to Kansas, things like this don't happen there. We've had our share of tornado scares over the years, but I never thought one would actually hit so close to home, literally.

There are still chances of severe weather, of weather that could produce tornadoes tonight and tomorrow and that scares me. Even growing up in Oklahoma, severe weather has always scared me. As soon as it starts to thunder I start to freak out. I pray for the plains and I pray for all the people that lost things today.

At the end of the day there are things that I'm thankful for. I'm thankful that my mom's house is still standing with no damage. I'm thankful that my family is all okay, material things can be replaced, but people can't. I'm thankful for kind people that will help this tiny Oklahoma town that most people have never heard of. I'm just thankful.

Exciting news!

I have exciting news! Chase and I are moving to Texas when he gets out of the Army!!! His uncle offered him a job with him pipeline welding and it's just too good not to take! He was planning on going to school for welding anyway so this is just awesome for us.

I was excited about moving back to Oklahoma, but I'm just as excited to move somewhere new. We spent the whole time Chase has been in the Army here in Kansas and it's really awesome to get the chance to move somewhere new and do and see new things before we have kids. We're moving to Victoria which is about 2 hours from Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi and San Antonio and a 30 minute drive from the Gulf of Mexico meaning it's 30 minutes from THE FREAKING BEACH! I've never lived close to the beach at all.

I've heard nothing but good things about south Texas and Victoria and I just can't wait to get there. Chase is going to go before I do and make sure this is what he wants to do for a while or forever and find us a place to live and all that jazz while I stay in Oklahoma. I'll move down there after a month or two.

I'm still reeling about it all and I can't believe that I'm not moving back to Oklahoma. I wanted to move back and was excited about being so close to my mom and sister and friends again, but we'll be an 8 1/2 hour drive away or an hour or so plane ride away and that's pretty awesome. I am a little scared about meeting people though. I only made friends here because Chase is in the Army and there are zillions of Facebook pages and stuff that helped, I don't know how to meet people the normal way. I'm hoping to start Cosmetology school soon after I get to Texas and maybe I'll be able to make a friend or two through that. I don't know, maybe I'll have to hang out at a nail salon or the mall, haha. I just know it's going to be more difficult also because most people my age aren't married and have other things, like partying, on their minds.

Either way, I'm excited. I'm excited about moving and living somewhere new. I'm excited to move to a new state and see other things, do other things, and have new experiences.
