Mr & Mrs.

Chase and I met back in 2006 when I was 14 and he was 15. His best friend and I went to high school together. On September 23rd, 2006 he asked me to be his girlfriend; I said I’d tell him the next day but actually made him wait a week. On September 30th, 2006 I said yes, I’d be his girlfriend. We had actually never met in person, we’d just talked on the phone and through texts from then on until November. I went to a football game where he went to school with my friend and we had decided to finally meet. During halftime I had went to the concession and stuff with my friend, so Chase texts me and asks where I went, so I tell him. Somehow, he ends up behind me and the first thing he ever says to me in person was, “damn my girlfriend has a nice ass.” :) In December we went on our first date to see Rocky Balboa.

On June 3rd, 2009 Chase left for basic for the Army. I was an emotional wreck and I didn’t know if I could handle it. It got better as time went on. He graduated in September and then reported to Fort Riley on October 3rd. A little over a month later he was deploying to Iraq, it was one of the hardest days of my life. Things slowly got better after he got there and settled in. He proposed to me via IM on January 22nd, 2010. Homecoming was the best day of my life. The feelings that you get when you see them, touch them, hug them, kiss them for the first time in months are indescribable. No one besides military significant others know that feeling of pride you get when they walk in and the anticipation of waiting for the release of him to you. You fall in love all over again, and although deployments are hard, I would never trade all the feelings I got when he came home for anything.

We got married in a little dog grooming parlor in Oklahoma City by an officiant on July 13th, 2010. We were 18 when we got married and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
